My Story:
Ever since I can remember I have wanted to work in an early childhood setting where I could be part of creating opportunities for children and families. The enthusiasm and passion children have for learning is something I have always enjoyed being a part of. I completed my studies in 2002 at Griffith University on the Gold Coast and moved to Central Queensland to begin my teaching career. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings. In Early Childhood and the Primary Sector, from the babies all the way up to Grade 6. It was in 2010 my husband Michael and I decided to start our own family, creating four gorgeous boys, Kristian, Xavier, Theo and Dominic. I was very fortunate to be a stay-at-home mum during their early years. We moved to Gympie in 2012 and haven’t looked back. We enjoy the quieter lifestyle that Gympie offers. The hotter months are spent splashing around in our pool and the cooler months bouncing on the trampoline, digging in the sandpit and playing on the fort. We also love camping and hanging out at the beach. In 2017 I gladly took on the position of Relief Teacher at Alma Street. I knew this was an opportunity not to miss. Having sent my boys to Alma Street provided me with an insight into the wonderful experiences the children are part of. Working as a relief teacher has given me the flexibility of being back in the Early Childhood sector as well as spending time with my boys. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside a wonderful team of passionate ladies, so dedicated to the children.
